So since this Thursday I’m turning 16 I decided to go through the Bible and look at the first chapter and sixth verse of every book. I’ve gone through the whole Old Testament now. There’s a lot of interesting verses I’ve come across… Like cutting someones toes and thumbs off. lol. Or Joseph and all his brothers died. : P Or you are to skin the burnt offering. Or Saul leaning on his spear. But I have found some cool ones!
Numbers 1:6
Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
Okay, okay. I know very random. But I decided to look up what these names meant. Since I sadly do not have a Greek or Hebrew dictionary I had to use Google. Anyway, this verse I glanced over quickly because it didn’t seem to have any importance. But when I looked up the names I was like WOW! So Simeon means, obedient or listening. Shelumiel, means peace of God. Zurishaddai means, The Almighty is my rock and strength. I LOVE the last one! Okay I DO NOT love the name! LOL. But the meaning…. whoa! Like why can’t my name mean something that cool. Like seriously.
Joshua 1:6
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
After finding a bunch of strange verses I was very excited to find this one. Be strong and of a good courage…
Psalm 1:6
For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
I’m REALLY looking forward to finding more tomorrow!
