blessed

God has blessed our nation and today we get to celebrate our freedoms. But we as a nation have turned our backs on God and said, ‘We’ve got this. You can go now.’  When will our punishment come? Many believe it has already started. This nation is bloodstained and horribly wicked. Our freedoms of speech, religion and life are dwindling. We need to humble ourselves before God and ask for his forgiveness. He promised: if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’  2 Chronicles 7:14    God is willing to forgive and heal our land. But we first must repent from our wicked ways. I pray that we will see God’s Spirit sweep this land with a great revival. I pray that each one of us will take our nation’s situation seriously and daily spend time on our knees for this land.

Even though it may seem hopeless at times we still have a lot to be thankful for. We can still gather and worship our King without the authorities coming after us. We can still own and read our Bibles without hiding and being fearful. But yet we are so ungrateful. We get so caught up in what other people would think or say if we stood up for the Gospel. We get so worried about what the world thinks is cool or stylish. We listen to the lies of the Devil when he tells us we have it so bad. We aren’t thankful for all the food we have. We aren’t grateful to all the men and women who gave their life to start this country and to keep it free. Today instead of eating your hot dogs and drinking your beer and just treating this day as a day to party, spend some time praying for this nation. Be thankful and humble. Because the freedoms you enjoy were not free. Tell God how thankful you are that he allowed this nation to come into existence. And tell him how sorry you are that we have turned our backs on him and told him we knew better.
